How on the world would it be good for the ufc? UFC tried co promoting before and it massively backfired like it always does.
it wouldn't be good for them, but it would be good for the fans. and i think the fighters would enjoy it. you get too many promotions and then you get the stupid belt issues that boxing has. there should only be one champion in each weight class.

It's not good for the fans... Too many people involved starts screwing everything up and orgs die because of it. Co promoting hasn't helped anyone. Ever. And the fighters don't like it.... Japenese fighters are starting to hate it. There's some good recent quotes about this from Gono.

Co promoting does not in anyway solve any belt isssue... It only creates more belt problems. Check out the WAMMA clusterf*ck.

Sure it does. More often than not. You're under the assumption that more people involved get more done.

What fights are we missing that needed to happen outside of fedor? Even with him we miss huge fights with free agents. Red Devil is very difficult to work with.

i'm not an expert on the sports, but there's good talent in nearly all the weight classes that's spread over the two main promotions. i think i'm just annoyed with UFC arrogance and elitism. yeah, they have mostly great shows and promote well, but that doesn't win me over. plus, i haven't really enjoyed many of their fights/fighters lately. i guess i just prefer some of the other promotions/fights.

Of course there is plenty of great talent but even if the ufc co promoted, which they have tried to do, it doesn't mean we would get every dream fight. Some of these guys simply won't fight each other.

Man I, too, remember seeing that live... all of us at the bar were just feeling so damn sorry for the dude. The UFC tends to do that awkward hold out on lots of fighters, the trick is just wave/smile/fist pump towards the camera 1x then just look.the.hell.AWAY!

In other news regarding Asian fighters... looks like "armbreaker" Aoki is set to challenge Gilbert Melendez for the Strikeforce LW title.

3 title fights, all free on CBS. Should be some good stuff

It'll take Strikeforce 5 hours to get through that card. I'll still be locked in.

Was a damn fine card - especially for free.

I think "Bones" is the real deal. And being that he's only 22... I have a feeling he'll be a force in the LWH division for years to come.

As for JDS, the dude is yet another example of just how stacked the UFC's HW division is nowadays.

With Mir and Carwin fighting for the interim belt this coming SAT... I would absolutely LOVE it if they could put together a #1 contendors match between JDS and Cain Velasquez.

This fight would be an easy one to hype as not only are both fighters young with great records... but Cain is fresh off a KO of Minitarou Nogeria (sp) - who just happens to be Dos Santos' sensei

I think last night we got a great glimpse of the future faces of this sport - especially in Jones
