Thought I'd throw a generic pro football topic here for misc NFL talk. During the season, I always enjoy reading Gregg Easterbrook's Tuesday Morning Quarterback columns on ESPiN's Page 2 and he usually comes up with quality stuff. For starters, I thought this was an interesting tidbit: At the start of Raiders camp, JaMarcus Russell measured 6-foot-6, 269 pounds -- making him larger than any offensive lineman on the Miami Dolphins' 1972 perfect-season team. That squad's offensive line averaged 262 pounds -- and there are now high schools where the starting offensive line averages more.

Read one of the dumbest things I have ever read in the history of the Dallas morning news today. By Rick Gosselin "The NFL's best second round draft picks" (Active)1. Larry Allen. Ok...I agree 2. Isaac Bruce. Ok...agree again 3. Devin Hester.. Whuh? WTF?! Devin F*cking Hester? You kidding me? At number 3? Dude is a stud but a ST stud and has only been in the league for a cup of coffee. Here's a few players that are not Devin Hester worthy... 4. Drew Brees, QB, San Diego (2001) 6. Chad Johnson, WR, Cincinnati (2001) 8. Darren Sharper, S, Green Bay (1997) 10. Anquan Boldin, WR, Arizona (2003) 12. Osi Umenyiora, DE, NY Giants (2003) 14. Rashean Mathis, CB, Jacksonville (2003) 15. Alge Crumpler, TE, Atlanta (2001) And one of the biggest injustices... 30. Sam Madison, CB, Miami (1997)

I drafted Gene Upshaw as my number one pick in fantasy football this past weekend. I took Pat Tillman number 2.

You'll still probably do better than those taking Ricki Williams in the 3rd round...

He'd probably do a better job if he took off his helmet first.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kicker Jay Feely has been cut by the Kansas City Chiefs, a day after signing a one-year deal. Feely was an eight-year veteran who kicked for Miami last season. He was brought in to challenge Connor Barth and Nick Novak for the starting job.
The three had what coach Herm Edwards called a "kick off" on Monday and Tuesday to determine who would make the team.
Chiefs president Carl Peterson announced Feely's release on Wednesday. That leaves 76 players on the roster.
